We have to carry our pet from our apartment to the lift, carry in the lift, then carry through foyer which is proving a little difficult for us. What are the rules and regulations in Queensland? – Maggie, QLD

We have a 9 kilo labradoodle dog, who has has been approved by body corporate, however my husband was in a fall and has his arm is in a sling. I also have back problems now… we are retirees. We have to carry our pet from our apartment to the lift, carry in the lift, then carry through foyer which is proving a little difficult for us. What are the rules and regulations in Queensland? I have to say quite a few residents don’t carry through common property, we just follow the rules.

Hi Maggie, you will need to consult the schemes by-laws and the conditions about pets. The common conditions of having a pet, do not stipulate that it must be carried on common property. We suggest you reach out to the body corporate and clarify this condition. The majority of by-laws state that animals must be on a lead or adequately restrained while on common property.
