Is there a regulated timeframe where a lot owner must be informed of a committee meeting and or receive an agenda for the proposed meeting? – Tom, QLD

Q: Is there a regulated timeframe where a lot owner must be informed of a committee meeting and or receive an agenda for the proposed meeting? I received a notification day after the meeting and because it states I have to give 24 hrs notice, I could not.

A: This will depend on what by-laws your body corporate property has active.

For standard body corporate properties following model by-laws, written notice of a meeting must be given at least seven days before the meeting.

Alternatively, if all voting members agree in writing or at a previous meeting, notice may be given at a minimum of two days before a meeting.
