Q: I’m hoping to install a retractable fly screen on our balcony so we can enjoy our balcony without the nuisance of mosquitoes and most recently possums… is this something that strata can approve?

A: It may be best to first check your strata by-laws. There may be a list of renovations that you are able to make to the property without needing approval from your strata committee.

If you do require approval, bring the matter up with your strata committee’s secretary for approval at a general meeting. Alternatively, you may call upon your strata manager for help if one is available.
