I’m a homeowner in an apartment block. Am I allowed to have a personal gym set up in my garage for personal use “only”? – Justin, NSW

Q: I’m a homeowner in an apartment block. Am I allowed to have a personal gym set up in my garage for personal use “only”?

A: If the garage is considered a part of your lot entitlement and is solely for your private use and benefit, you may set up a personal gym witihn your garage.

One thing to be aware of is noise levels. Ensure that you do not cause noise disturbances for neighbours.

It may also be worth checking your strata property’s by-laws, or speaking to your committee members or strata manager for further clarification.
