I have been away and come home to learn that one owner has taken out a window and replaced it with a sliding door! This was not even brought up at a meeting. I thought a by-law would have been needed. Can you please clarify? – Lenore, NSW

A: It would be best to re-check your by-laws. One may have been added during the time you were away. Alternatively, you may wish to speak to your strata manager or committee about the matter, to better understand what may have happened.

If the sliding door has been replaced without permission, there may be requirements to revert it back to the original window.
