Q: 1. What is the time frame to add an item to an AGM before the AGEM is held? 2. How can you add an item to an AGM agenda if the time frame has closed? 3. How can you remove a managing agent and do the owners have to vote on this or can it be done by the executive committee?
What is the time frame to add an item to an AGM before the AGEM is held? How can you add an item if the time frame has closed? How can you remove a managing agent? – Sue, NSW
A: It is recommended that you add in items with as much time as possible. We recommend no more than two weeks out from the AGM date at least.
If you have the need to add an agenda item past the due date, it may be best to contact your committee’s secretary. Depending on the importance and scope of the item it may be added in, but this is not guaranteed. Alternatively, it may be able to be added to a general meeting at a later date.
Removing a managing agent does require a motion with a majority vote from the owners corporation at the AGM, or at an EGM if the AGM has passed and is too far away to wait.
