I’m an owner and on the committee of a small block of apartments in Victoria. Do I have the right to suggest an agenda item for our upcoming AGM? – Vincent, VIC

Q: I’m an owner and on the committee of a small block of apartments in Victoria. Do I have the right to suggest an agenda item for our upcoming AGM? We don’t have committee meetings so there is little communication.

A: All lot owners should have a right to suggest agenda items for their AGM.

You may do this by bringing up your agenda item request with your committee’s secretary two weeks prior to the AGM date. Ensure that you have the request in writing (e.g. in an email), this way you will have a record of the request for future reference if required.
