A: For an owner to make alterations to the external appearance of the building (including solar panels on the roof), Body Corporate approval is required. Your strata manager will be able to provide you with a relevant application form. Upon completing the application form, it should be submitted to the committee for review and approval. Sometimes, these applications may be outside the committee’s approval authority. If this is the case, you may be advised to submit a motion at the next annual general meeting for all owners to vote on. Consider looking at your by-laws and talk with the strata manager to decide how to proceed.
