Q: Are there any reasons such as legal orders which allow any owner to have a legal right not to pay strata fee？one of our owners has not paid for strata fee for 3 years and claims he has legal orders issued not to pay strata fee and he is also a committee member. Is he still qualified to continue being a member？How can we resolve the issue as owners？

 

A: No. There is no way for an owner to avoid paying strata fees. Owners who fail to pay strata fees to lose their right to vote and/or be a member of the strata committee.
