Who sets the amounts for strata levy fees and when they are due? Where can I refer to the amounts and dates due once these are set? – Jason, NSW
Hello Jason, strata levies are agreed and passed at the AGM. The proposed budget is sent out at least 21 days before the AGM for all owners to familiarise themselves with and ask questions at the meeting. Once the budget is passed at the meeting, the levy statements are sent out, depending on the agreed levy cycle. You can contact your strata manager and request the levy statement be sent to you, to avoid incurring any late interest charges. Also check with the strata manager that they have your correct method to receive correspondence. This will eliminate not receiving the statements and missing the due dates.
