Can a body corporate refuse me to allow a dog to visit my unit, when one unit has a dog and another unit has 2 cats residing permanently? – Judith, QLD
Can a body corporate refuse me to allow a dog to visit my unit, when one unit has a dog and another unit has 2 cats residing permanently? The dog is house trained, obedient and not a barker. My landlord says it is okay, the body corporate refused my application.

Hello Judith, you will need to confirm the by-law about animals for your specific community title. Your managing agent should be able to get this, and it will provide more insight on animals at the building. You can also refer to the government page for more information regarding schemes with no animal by-laws, permissive animal by-laws and prohibitive animal by-laws. Read more about it here: https://www.qld.gov.au/law/housing-and-neighbours/body-corporate/by-laws/animals#nobylawaboutanimals
